If you search for folding tables, what you will find are 5ft – 8ft tables that only have folding legs. They are 40 lbs + which is very heavy and not easy to move. If you need an inexpensive desk to work on, these work just fine but really it is too big and heavy to bring around in most cases.
Then you have the bi-fold polypropylene table. This is another great table that does fit in a much more compact space when folded in half but this table still weighs 46 lbs! That is way too heavy for many to lug around.
Some people that are more creative make their own “make shift” table. They find some type of supports for legs and wood planks or equivalent for a table top. This may lay flat in the van, and may even be lighter in weight, but it is definitely not easier to use. In many case, you are not saving a lot either in weight.
